Please submit group changes for existing Vermont area groups to the Group Records Coordinator (GRC) at grouprecords@vermontalanonalateen.org. This includes meeting location, zoom, group name or CMA (Current Mailing Address) changes. Include the group name, district number and group WSO ID number (if known) in your email. The GRC will update the WSO database and will notify the area’s web coordinator and meeting list coordinator. Contact the GRC at grouprecords@vermontalanonalateen.org with any questions about group records.

New Groups
Register new groups through WSO directly:

- New Al-Anon Group Registration For Groups With An Electronic Meeting Location Only
The Area GRC will receive notification from WSO of the new group.
Choosing A Group’s Name
“When choosing an Al-Anon or Alateen group name, consider the welcoming and comforting focus of Tradition Five. Anyone affected by someone else’s drinking is welcome at an Al-Anon meeting. It is vital that group names are inviting and attractive and that they avoid public controversy.” p84 Al-Anon/Alateen Service Manual: Choosing A Naming Policy
Group Records Process
“A group may be part of the Vermont area whether it is in-person, hybrid or virtual through the appropriate registration process. Vermont adopted guidelines for permanent electronic groups that ask to become part of the Vermont Area.” VT PEG Motion and guidelines.
